A is for…Altenew

I used the Altenew Ori Kami stamp set on the card I am submitting to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (A is for…) and Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #16 (Watercoloring).

I stamped the hummingbirds in Antique Linen Distress Ink with the intention of trying my hand at no-line watercoloring, but later decided sharp lines were needed on the origami images and traced the outlines in Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Mustard Seed, and Salty Ocean Distress Markers before watercoloring with the respective Distress Ink pads.  I also used Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks on the bellies of two of the birds; I had meant to color all 3 birds similarly, but forgot to leave an opening on the belly when I was tracing the outline of the Salty Ocean bird.  (This was also my 3rd attempt at this card, so I decided to try to make the best of it!!)

I die cut the Simon Says Stamp thanks die 3 times from Neenah Solar White cardstock and layered them for some dimension.  (The top layer was cut out of cardstock that I had blended Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks over.)
