2018 MVP Series #1: Bonjour

As the day of the big game approaches, I’ve been wondering who will be named the NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year and of course, whether or not Tom Brady will bring home another MVP award.  (I’m rooting for you Drew Brees!!)  This got me to thinking about what were the MVPs — most valuable products — in my crafty stash.   There are a few stamp sets that I find myself reaching for over and over again and I thought it would be fun to do a short card series featuring some of my favorite older stamp sets.  Let’s begin with Avery Elle’s Bonjour — I think this set is perfect for masculine cards (with the right color scheme) and for those rare occasions when a cute critter just won’t do… I recently used it to create a birthday card for a coworker of mine who is a bit of a foodie:

I stamped the large macaron outline image onto white cardstock in Versamark ink then heat set it with silver embossing powder.  I added color to the macarons by blending on various Simon Says Stamp dye inks then used the coordinating die to cut out the images.

The focal panel was cut from white cardstock using the stitched rectangle die from WPlus9’s Gift Card Layers.  I smooshed each of the dye inks I used earlier onto acrylic blocks, then flicked the colors onto the focal panel with a damp paintbrush. When the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and adhered the macarons in rainbow order using a combination of Tombow Mono Multi Glue and homemade glue dots.  The focal panel was then attached to an A2 side-fold card base.

I am submitting this card to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Resist It) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes).
